“If this video doesn’t remind you of being 15 years old, I failed. When I would see Amarissa (the dark haired girl – a co-worker of mine) and her friend Evelyn together, it just reminded me so much of being that age: the intensity of the friendship, the smiles and laughter, the adventurous spirits, and that moment right before some sort of innocence is lost. I actually felt I had to work quick because that change happens really fast at that age. They reminded me of some of my best girl friends at that age and I wanted to capture it on film. They were up for it and videographer Nelsen Brazill is just a badass. We talked at length about my vision for video and then he set out for a day of adventuring with them as they bussed from Marin to San Francisco, then all around the city, taking pictures for Evelyn’s high school AP photo class. The journey obviously becomes part of the story, as well. I was insistent we end the day of shooting at Ft. Funston overlooking the Pacific.” --- Gabriel Leis
